The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival Educational Foundation (FEDUJAZZ) announces the celebration of the twenty-fourth edition of the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival with two free concerts to be held on November 11 and 12 at Cabarete beach, with good music and vibra that characterizes the event. After a two-year break due to the health crisis that hit the world, the event returns with more force to offer “the music of musicians, jazz”, to the hundreds of people from all over the country and tourists from all over.
With the official sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, the version of the DR Jazz Festival 2022 will feature the participation of national and international artists, such as the Equatoguinean-Spanish singer, Buika, who stands out in different musical genres such as flamenco, jazz , tango and boleros, as well as Grupo Bonyé, with a repertoire that includes son, guaracha, montuno, traditional son, salsa, salve and merengue.
“We are extremely happy and excited to bring back these concerts that with good music unite hundreds of people who love jazz, which has a positive impact on children and adolescents who learn music through the foundation and the collaboration of so many people, companies and institutions that believe in the hard work of the foundation and our team”, said María Elena Gratereaux, president of FeduJazz.
The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival produces a free, world-class event on a grand stage on the beach in Cabarete Bay with internationally acclaimed musicians, and free music activities during the day for students. One of the premier cultural events in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival has enjoyed participation by prestigious GRAMMY Award winners such as Esperanza Spalding, Chuck Mangione, Chucho Valdes, Arturo Sandoval, John Patitucci, and Joe Lovano among others.
FEDUJAZZ provides free music education for the youth of the Dominican Republic. Currently, there are one hundred students attending free music classes at the foundation’s center in Cabarete. Hundreds of schoolchildren from the North Coast of the Dominican Republic also attend educational music workshops with renowned musicians performing at the jazz festival each year.
